This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed newly qualified GP (within 2 years) to join Riverview Health Centre on a fixed-term, salaried GP contract, with an immediate start date of January 2025 until the 31st March 2025.
We are based in a purpose-built modern practice close to the City Centre within easy reach of train, metro, and bus links. We use Emis Web clinical system and have friendly patients who present with interesting and often challenging health problems. No day is the same, and this is an opportunity to practice real medicine at a high standard.
Sessions are capped at a maximum of 25 patient contacts per day, working closely with our Advanced Nurse Practitioners and supportive GPs to deliver high quality of care within a practice with very low home visit requests.
Main duties of the job- As a salaried GP, you will play a crucial role in the provision of primary healthcare services.
- Undertake surgery consultations including face-to-face, online & telephone.
- The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population.
- The provision of services commensurate with the primary care contract.
- Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance.
- Effective management of long-term conditions.
- Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy, and guidance.
- Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload.
- Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process.
We are a small family-friendly practice with 2 partners, 1 salaried GP, 2 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, a Nursing care assistant, and an excellent admin team.

Person Specification Other Requirements- Flexibility to work outside of core office hours.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing high-quality care.
- Experience with EMIS Web or similar clinical systems is an advantage.
- Membership of a relevant Medical Defence Union.
- Full GMC Registration with a license to practice and entry on the GP Register - Certificate of completion date must be within 2 years and not having held a substantive post before.
- Certificate of Completion of Training in General Practice / certificate confirming eligibility for General Practice Registration, or equivalent.
- Included on a Medical Performers List or eligible.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
- Experience of using electronic clinical patient records.
- Experience of QOF and clinical audit.
- Understanding of policy developments related to the delivery of primary care services including General Practice, the GMS contract, Clinical Governance, Network Contract DES, and Quality & Outcomes Framework.
