An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our teams at Cheetham Hill and The Neville Family Medical Centres.

Under the new ARRS scheme, we are looking to expand our team by seeking to employ a newly qualified General Practitioner to work alongside our practice's existing staff on a fixed term basis, that if successful, could lead to a permanent role.

The successful applicants will work alongside the practice teams to support healthcare professionals, patients, and carers.

You will be based at either or both of the practices: The Neville Family Medical Centre, Cheetham Hill Medical Centre, and/or branch on Rochdale Road.

Main duties of the job
  • Provide consultations, assess healthcare needs, and develop care plans.
  • Prescribe medications in line with best practice guidelines.
  • Process test results, manage prescriptions, and make referrals as necessary.
  • Participate in home visits and on-call duties as required.
  • Contribute to service improvements, audits, and QOF activities.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.
About us

Cheetham Hill Medical Centre is a 20,000 patient practice based in Cheetham Hill, Manchester. The Neville Family Medical Centre is a 6,000 patient practice located in Blackley, Manchester.

The practices have been working together for a number of years and are both committed to providing high-quality care to their patients. Both practices are part of Cheetham Hill & Crumpsall PCN.

The teams are made up of a range of healthcare professionals including GPs, ANPs, Nurses, PAs, Pharmacists, ACPs, HCAs, and administrative staff, all working collaboratively to deliver exceptional services for the benefit of our patients.

Job responsibilities

We are seeking dynamic and motivated newly qualified General Practitioners to join Cheetham Hill & The Neville Family Medical Centres under the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS) on a fixed term basis. This is a unique opportunity to practice patient-centered care while working alongside a multidisciplinary team. You will be part of an innovative and supportive environment, with opportunities to develop your clinical skills and make a real impact on patient care.

As a GP within our Practices, you will be involved in:

  • Conducting in-person, telephone, and online consultations.
  • Managing patients with long-term conditions and undiagnosed health problems.
  • Supporting chronic disease management, including care planning and health promotion.
  • Participating in triage and providing timely referrals.
  • Engaging in quality improvement activities, audits, and achieving QOF targets.
  • Collaborating with additional roles professionals, such as pharmacists, social prescribers, and mental health specialists.
Person Specification Qualifications
  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree
  • Full registration with GMC
  • Certification of Completion of Training (JCPTGP/PMETB)
  • Inclusion on Performers List
  • MRCGP
Experience
  • Evidence of a commitment to ongoing personal & professional development.
  • Must not have been substantively employed as a GP in general practice previously; or
  • Is not employed in a temporary capacity as a locum; and/or
  • Upon commencement of employment is less than 2 years beyond their certificate of completion of training being issued by the GMC.
  • Committed to working as part of a multi-disciplinary, multi-agency primary care team.
  • Background in clinical leadership, audit, or quality improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with chronic disease management and care pathway redesign.
