NSX/VCD Consultant

We are working with a client who is one of the UK's most certified independent VMware specialists. They work with their customers to enable them to unlock the full potential of cloud, datacentres and digital workspace technologies.

They are currently looking for an experienced Consultant/Architect who has strong knowledge of NSX and VMware Cloud Director.

Key Responsibilities:

• Tenant Decommissioning
• Decommissioning of VMware Cloud Director Objects
• Hardware Decommissioning
• Decommissioning of VMware Cloud Director Objects
• Decommissioning of NSX components installed on ESXi hosts (NSX-v/NSX-T)
• Decommissioning of vSphere components
• Supporting Lifecycle activities of the environment
• Administration (including the creation of a new) virtual VIM environment to support upgrade testing.
• Support the automation team to ensure environments are ready for upgrade testing to develop LCM processes.
• Provide support to the Operations team on VMware Cloud Director (limited knowledge of vCD within the team)
• NSX V2T Migrations - This should be complete by the end of the year, but an understanding of both products would be beneficial in case any more crop up in 2025.

Must have Skills:

• VMware Cloud Director (vCD)
• NSX-v
• NSX (FKA NSX-T)
• vSphere
• Any Scripting experience would be beneficial also, particularly with PowerShell as they try and automate processes where possible.
