About Baringa:
We set out to build the world's most trusted consulting firm - creating lasting impact for clients and pioneering a positive, people-first way of working. We work with everyone from FTSE 100 names to bright new start-ups, in every sector.

You'll find us collaborating shoulder-to-shoulder with our clients, from the big picture right down to the detail: helping them define their strategy, deliver complex change, spot the right commercial opportunities, manage risk, or bring their purpose and sustainability goals to life. Our clients love how we get to know what makes their organisations tick - slotting seamlessly into their teams and being proudly geeky about solving their challenges.

As a Certified B Corporation, we've proven that we've built social and environmental good into every bit of what we do.

We have hubs in Europe, the US, Asia and Australia, and we work all around the world - from a wind farm in Wyoming to a boardroom in Berlin. Find us wherever there's a challenge to be tackled and an impact to be made.

Our Operational Excellence practice are looking for an experienced Senior Consultant to join the team.

Operational Excellence (OE) at Baringa is about partnering with clients to solve their most complex problems and deliver operationally excellent processes, systems, teams and people. The OE team focuses on re-imagining end-to-end processes to deliver for customers; designing AI, Automation and process intelligence technologies that drive scaled operational benefits; enhancing team performance; building bottom-up OE capability; and coaching your team on how to embed longer-term sustainable performance and cost bases.

We believe the most impactful operational improvements come from a broad set of capabilities, combining Lean and Systems Thinking with elements of Operational Transformation, Intelligent Automation and AI, Organisational Agility, Process Intelligence, Cost Optimisation, and Behavioural Change. We want to continue to innovate to address our client's problems, and that's where you come in.

As a member of our team you will help shape and drive a breadth of exciting, transformational work across all our industry market sectors (Financial Services, Products & Services, Energy & Resources, Pharmaceutical & Lifesciences and Government).

What you will be doing

  • Take a lead role in delivering consulting projects to improve operational performance, future-proof operations and build sustainable capability in clients.
  • Apply a range of Lean / Six Sigma / Systems Thinking techniques and practices to perform diagnostics of current state, identify opportunities for waste and failure demand removal, redesign end-to-end journeys and test digitally enabled solutions.
  • Help clients gain a firm grip of their core processes through documenting and reviewing process models applying BPMN 2.0 notation, developing end-to-end process classification and governance frameworks, as well as setting up and operationalising process management technology.
  • Shape and deliver tailored approaches for process-led technology transformations and re-platforming initiatives.
  • Help define traceable KPIs and reporting structures to baseline and measure outcomes delivered during the transformation journey.
  • Utilise project management tools to track and communicate progress, ensuring all client stakeholders and team members are aligned.
  • Develop our operational and process excellence propositions, methods and tools.

Your skills and experience
We are looking for talented, enthusiastic consultants with 3+ years of relevant work experience and a track record of taking ownership, delivering Operational and Process Excellence in challenging environments. Ideal candidates will have:

  • Proven expertise in Lean / Six Sigma / Systems Thinking tools and techniques, including their development and application to driving tangible benefits in everyday business.
  • Experience in identifying, scoping and implementing opportunities for non-technical and digitally enabled process design, optimisation, automation and management using relevant standards and frameworks.
  • Strong process and data skills using a variety of supporting tools and platforms.
  • A good understanding of technology trends and delivering productivity improvements using tools such as Process Intelligence, Workflow, CRM, Automation & AI.
  • Ability to translate, structure and roll up, individual problem statements and opportunities into the big-picture of multi-year transformation initiatives, both quantitatively and qualitatively. Ideally through having done this in 2+ multi-year business and/or tech transformations previously.
  • Track record of taking project management roles and achieving outcomes in high-pressure, results-focused client environments.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

What a career at Baringa will give you
Putting People First.
Baringa is a People First company and wellbeing is at the forefront of our culture. We recognise the importance of work-life balance and flexible working and provide our staff amazing benefits. Some of these benefits include:

  • Generous Annual Leave Policy: We recognise everyone needs a well-deserved break. We provide our employees with 5 weeks of annual leave, fully available at the start of each year. In addition to this, we have introduced our 5-Year Recharge benefit which allows all employees an additional 2 weeks of paid leave after 5 years continuous service.
  • Flexible Working: We know that the 'ideal' work-life balance will vary from person to person and change at different stages of our working lives. To accommodate this, we have implemented a hybrid working policy and introduced more flexibility around taking unpaid leave.
  • Corporate Responsibility Days: Our world is important to us, so all our employees get 3 every year to help social and environmental causes and increase our impact on the communities that mean the most to us.
  • Wellbeing Fund: We want to encourage all employees to take charge and prioritise their own wellbeing. We've introduced our annual People Fund to support this by offering every individual a fund to support and manage their wellbeing through an activity of their choice.
  • Career Progression: No one develops at the same pace. That's why we have quarterly rather than annual promotion reviews. We don't have any quotas: if you're ready and delivering at the right level, you'll get that promotion.
  • Profit Share Scheme: All employees participate in the Baringa Group Profit Share Scheme so everyone has a stake in the company's success.

Diversity and Inclusion.
We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. We believe that creating an environment where everyone feels a sense of belonging is central to our culture and that diversity is paramount to driving creativity, innovation, and value for our clients and for our people.

An award-winning workplace.
You can be a part of our 'Great Place to Work' - with our commitment to women and well-being in the workplace for all.

Using business as a force for good.
At Baringa we believe that everyone creates a lasting impact when you put people - customers, employees, investors, suppliers, and society - first. Our B Corp certification shows that we've met and held ourselves accountable to high standards of social and environmental performance and transparency.
