Operations Director - Market Leading IPP

Are you a hands-on operational leader ready to scale a fast-growing clean energy company? My client is seeking an experienced Operations Director to join their leadership team. In this pivotal role, you'll work closely with the Founder & CEO, helping to grow the company from 100 to 300 employees over the next few years.

As a trusted partner to the CEO, you will be responsible for optimising business operations, driving resource allocation, and improving operational efficiency across all business functions. You'll also have the opportunity to provide input on key strategic initiatives and act as an honest broker across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operational Leadership: Lead and integrate core business functions such as Project Development, Project Delivery, and Commercial & Asset Management. Standardize processes across verticals and ensure scalability, following best-in-class standards like ISO 9001.
2. People Management & HR: Oversee HR strategy, working closely with leaders on resource alignment, talent management, onboarding, and employee development. Support succession planning and employee retention while fostering a high-performance culture.
3. Culture & Performance: Drive a company culture rooted in humility, innovation, and empowerment. Maintain alignment with the Founder's vision and core values, promoting employee engagement and reinforcing the company's DNA as it scales.
4. ESG Leadership: Champion Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives, including diversity and inclusion efforts. Ensure sustainability and ethical practices are embedded in the company's operations.
5. Marketing & Communications: Oversee internal and external communications, working with external providers to manage PR and marketing efforts. Facilitate clear communication across departments and manage company-wide events.
6. Health, Safety, & Risk Management: Lead the company's health and safety initiatives in collaboration with SHEQ leadership. Mitigate operational risks and ensure compliance with safety standards across all projects and assets.
7. Strategic Projects: Provide input on key strategic initiatives and take ownership of ad-hoc projects that drive the company's long-term growth. Over time, expand the scope of the role to include functions like Asset Management and Portfolio Performance.
