Drucks silicon cleanroom is the heart of our pressure sensor business. Every sensor we build here at Groby has a silicon chip that we process in our state of the heart cleanroom.

As a Silicon Technician operator you will be responsible for performing various tasks related to silicon wafer processing and handling in a semiconductor manufacturing environment. This includes operating equipment, and following established procedures to ensure the accurate and efficient production of silicon components.

Key responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain silicon wafer processing, such as cleaning, etching, and measuring silicon wafers.
  • Handle and transport silicon wafers using proper protocols and procedures.
  • Conduct visual inspections and quality control checks to ensure adherence to specifications and standards.
  • Follow established operating procedures and work instructions for silicon wafer processing.
  • Collaborate with team members and engineers to address issues and optimize process performance.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and provide feedback for enhancing efficiency and productivity.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in silicon wafer processing

Technical Skills/Knowledge.

  • Experience in wafer probing or semiconductor manufacturing is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with bonding techniques, alignment procedures, and wafer handling equipment.
  • Ability to work meticulously with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using microscopes and other relevant inspection tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to work.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.


To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have good experience in assembly techniques and good attention to detail of components and assemblies
  • Limited prior training and/or experience required
  • A willingness to learn new skills
  • A good timekeeper
