Job Description
Are you looking for a chance to work with an award winning independent opticians in the Loughborough area?
- Must have 1-year minimum experience of working in an opticians - Must be able to dispense to all levels - You will be able to work 5-days per week Tuesday to Saturday If you do not meet the above requirements, you application will not be taken further.
A very exciting opportunity has become available for a customer focused Optical Assistant who is looking for a full time career move with well-established optical group. You will be based at one practice however could be asked to cover the other practice for holiday or sickness, through this you will gain valuable insight into different working environments and personalities and dealing with different types of clientele.
Hours are 8:45 to 5:30 in the week and 8:45 to 4pm on Saturdays.
A full time rota would be Tuesday to Saturdays as they are currently cosed on Sundays and Mondays.
The practice is fully equipped with hospital grade technology including OCT, Optomap and work with the Optix system
Responsibilities of the Optical Assistant
- The role will entail dispensing spectacles to all levels, conducting pre-screen tests and contact lens teaches.
- You will also be required to carry out frame styling and give patients advice on options.
- Reception duties and general admin will also be a part of the role and helping with the smooth running of the practice.
- Working across the practices, no two days are the same which gives you the variety of working environments and team dynamics.
A driving license and car is essential in order to work in both practices.
Requirements of the Optical Assistant
My client is looking for applicants with ideally 3-4 years of experience as an Optical Assistant, preferably within another independent opticians.
The ability to dispense to all levels is essential with a friendly and personable demeanour and strong personal work ethic.
A customer focused approach to your work and the ability to build a strong rapport with customers and colleagues alike.
Must be a good communicator, understand what good customer service means and be well-presented.
Compensation for the Optical Assistant
For your efforts a competitive salary of up to £25,000 basic with a good overall package and prospects for the future is on offer along with additional benefits.
A sales-based, team bouns is available (approx £250 per quarter)
Sociable hours including early finish (4pm) on Saturdays
No Sundays or bank holidays
