Post-Doctoral Position: The Schur, Berger, and Schleper Labs are collaborating to investigate the origins of eukaryotic chromatin through an interdisciplinary project funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) under the excellent=austria initiative. The Schur Lab at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria (ISTA) seeks a post-doctoral researcher with expertise in structural biology and cryo-electron microscopy/tomography.

Job Description: The successful candidate will develop a project focused on the evolution of protein complexes involved in chromatin activity in Archaea, which prefigure eukaryotic chromatin. The candidate will utilize and develop in situ structural biology approaches using cryo-EM/cryo-ET. The position requires regular interaction and collaboration with other research groups as part of the newly forming EvoChromo laboratory.
