We are seeking a passionate and dedicated teacher to join our pool of supply teachers. We can offer you 1 to 5 days a week based on your lifestyle needs.
About your role as a Supply Teacher
As a Supply Teacher, you will have good knowledge of the curriculum. You will need to cover classes delivering planned lessons set by the class teacher or sometimes your own lessons for unplanned sick cover.
Some of your other duties will include:
- Delivering Lessons: Teach pre-prepared lessons and ensure continuity of learning in the absence of the regular teacher.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment, managing student behaviour effectively.
- Adapting to Different Classes: Quickly adapt to different classroom settings and student needs, often with little prior notice.
- Following School Policies: Adhere to the school's policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health and safety guidelines.
- Marking and Feedback: Mark students' work and provide detailed feedback to the class teacher.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with other staff members, including teaching assistants and senior leadership, to ensure a smooth transition and continuity for students.
What you will need to succeed - You will need to hold QTS and the right to work in the UK.
- Experience working within a primary classroom
- Good behaviour management and organisational skills
- You must hold a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a DBS through Hays
