About the role:

Client Engagement and Project Delivery:

  • Partner with clients to assess human rights risks and opportunities within their supply chains.
  • Lead the design and implementation of human rights due diligence programs and sustainable sourcing strategies.
  • Deliver high-quality consulting services, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

Strategy Development and Implementation:

  • Develop strategies to address human rights impacts, including modern slavery, living wage methodologies, labor and working conditions, indigenous peoples, gender, diversity & inclusion, and Just Transition.
  • Assist clients in aligning supply chain practices with international frameworks such as the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, OECD Guidelines, IFC Performance Standards, and Equator Principles.
  • Support the implementation of Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) requirements from a human rights perspective.

Assessment and Audits:

  • Conduct human rights risk/impact assessments (HRIAs) in line with international standards.
  • Deliver human rights and labor audits, developing and managing pragmatic corrective action plans (CAPs) for remedy.
  • Develop Human Rights policies and implementation guidance for clients.

Research and Reporting:

  • Conduct research, benchmarking, and risk assessments to support client projects.
  • Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and action plans that deliver practical and strategic solutions.

Thought Leadership and Business Development:

  • Contribute to the growth of ERM's human rights and supply chain practice through thought leadership and industry engagement.
  • Support business development efforts, including proposal writing, client presentations, and marketing initiatives.

About you:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Rights, Sustainability, Business, or related fields.
  • Experience in human rights consulting, responsible sourcing, or supply chain management.
  • Strong knowledge of human rights standards, frameworks, and regulations.
  • Experience with human rights topics such as modern slavery, living wage methodologies, labor and working conditions, indigenous peoples, gender, diversity & inclusion, Just Transition, and responsible sourcing.
  • Experience in developing Human Rights policies and implementation guidance.
  • Proven experience in undertaking human rights due diligence using standards such as the UN Guiding Principles, OECD Guidelines, IFC Performance Standards, and Equator Principles.
  • Expertise in delivering human rights risk/impact assessments (HRIAs) and managing corrective action plans (CAPs).
  • Familiarity with CSRD and CSDDD implementation from the human rights perspective.
  • Specific experience with gender aspects is an advantage.
  • Previous experience within industry or consultancy is desirable.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with stakeholder engagement and multi-stakeholder initiatives.
