Principle Maritime Safety Consultant

Our client, a major defence consultancy, urgently require an experienced Maritime Consultant to join their team on a permanent basis.

In order to be successful, you will have the following experience:

• Extensive experience of Defence Maritime Systems Engineering across the whole system life cycle, primarily in Safety
• Experienced gained within Consultancy, or with one of the Major Defence contractors
• Knowledge and experience within: Def-Stan 00-55, Def-Stan 00-56, IEC 61508
• Experience of Defence Maritime Sub-surface systems will prove beneficial
• Able to obtain SC Clearance (candidates with active SC will be prioritised)

Within this role, you will be responsible for:

• Responsibility to develop our maritime safety capability supporting both external clients and wider Group safety projects
• Take ownership and lead the development of capability alongside established air focused safety team
• Provide advice in safety, engineering and technical consultancy services to a wide breadth of sectors across civil and military domains
• Safety case management
• Hazard management
• Platform certification and legislation
• Commission and Life Extension (COMEX/LIFEX)
• Hazard Identification and Analysis (HIA)
• Environmental Impact Screening Studies (EISS)
