Organizational Setting

The Department of Management (MT) provides a 'platform of services' that serves as a foundation for the successful delivery of the IAEA's scientific and technical programmes. Its mission statement is as follows: "MT is a partner and a business enabler that champions change and efficiency, leveraging a common purpose". Thus, among other support activities, it assists a scientific manager in recruiting the right expert, helps a technical officer coordinate the purchase of radiation equipment, and ensures that all Board documents are translated and distributed on a timely basis to Member States.

Main Purpose

Under the guidance and supervision of the Departmental Administrative Officer (MT)/ Data Protection Officer, the Consultant contributes to the implementation, monitoring and reporting on projects related to the Privacy and Personal Data Protection framework of the IAEA. The main purpose of this consultancy is to deliver on Personal Data Protection Awareness Raising and Training Activities.

Functions / Key Results Expected

  1. Prepare an awareness raising and training plan.
  2. Prepare training content for various groups and audiences.
  3. Prepare awareness raising materials, such as fact sheets, cheat sheets, or other covering various data protection processes and areas.
  4. Support the Agency wide effort of personal data mapping.
  5. Support the drafting and updating of procedures and guidelines related to data protection.
  6. Deliver on other data protection tasks as assigned by the Data Protection Officer.

Qualifications and Experience

  1. University Degree in law, administration, business, finance or related field.
  2. 5 years of professional experience, out of which 2 in an international setting.
  3. Relevant experience in data protection in an international organization.
  4. Proven track record of drafting guidance documents and policies in an international setting.
  5. Proven track record of designing and conducting trainings.
  6. Certification as a Data Protection Officer is an asset.

Remuneration

The remuneration for this consultancy is a daily fee of up to a maximum of € 300, based on qualifications and experience. In case duty travel is required within the assignment, a daily subsistence allowance (DSA) and travel costs are provided. Health coverage and pension fund are the responsibility of the incumbent.
