You'll be taking the lead on the design and launch of new programmes for our customers. You will pioneer new ways of thinking, designing and delivering. You'll conduct your own research and analysis, always with an eye on the long-term vision of the business. You'll also oversee programmes that are already running and find ways to improve them. Key job responsibilities
- Will have the ability to deal and deliver results in an ambiguous environment
- Define and scope new projects or programs to provide solutions to meet evolving business requirements
- Execute multiple time-sensitive, medium-scale capital projects to meet business objectives in defined project timeframes
- Monitor resources required to execute initiatives across the EU network including but not limited to: Launches, Retrofit projects, Post Launch support, Special Projects to maximize asset utilization
- Manage milestones with schedule commitments
- Drive standardization and consistency within our network while staying within budget constraints
- Interface, communicate and partner with cross-functional teams at various levels of management
- Monitor and report on the progress of multiple project activities including significant milestones and any conditions which would affect project cost or schedule
- Is structured and organized, to plan the use of resource and labor to meet deadlines
- Communication skills to build relationships and identify with stakeholders across the organization
- Is able to use their initiative and make decisions under pressure
- Has the ability to seek opportunities to drive year on year savings and performance/process improvements
- Has the ability to learn and adapt to changing circumstances
- Can work independently to solve problems and drive actions with a variety of stakeholders
A day in the life
As a Programme Manager, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and improving initiatives that ensure smooth running of our operations. You'll work closely with a range of Amazon colleagues to understand how they work, and what you and your teams can learn, as well as sharing your own expertise. Together, you'll identify exciting new opportunities and will take the lead when it comes to designing their implementation. You'll encourage and support your colleagues to meet important deliverables, while proactively looking for new, data-backed ways we could do things better. Your work will be integral to your team's success.
Programme Managers have significant responsibilities, and you'll deal with complex challenges with creativity, innovation, and leadership. With a responsibility extending beyond process improvements, you could also contribute to improving other areas of the business, like diversity, equity, and inclusion.
About the team
EU TOM Yard Automation team is pursuing the north star vision of an autonomous yard, where the 1st strategic milestone is an autonomous gate house. This will deliver a delightful driver experience by collapsing the driver waiting time at the gate for check in - check out process.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- A degree
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
- Experience in program or project management
- Experience defining and executing program requirements
- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
- Experience in Fulfillment Center/Warehouse operational skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Master's degree
- PMP certificate
- Proficiency with extracting query based data from large data sets
