Orthodontic Therapist

Dr Khurana is one of the first specialist orthodontists in the UK to have used Invisalign and Dental Monitoring and has treated over 2,000 Invisalign patients to-date. As a Turret Group staff member, you will learn the skills to support in a variety of orthodontic treatments, using the latest state-of-the-art technology and pioneering methods.

The post holder will:

v Ensure the best Orthodontic care is delivered to patients including to patients with complex medical, physical and emotional needs.

v Support and maintain high standards of patient care and infection control.

v Provide an environment that encourages patient involvement where patients seek help, advice, and education.

v Act as a positive role model within the practice for all staff and patients by upholding the Turret values; smiling, being solution focused and an exemplary team player.

v Ensure all required professional indemnity is in place and all necessary CPD in undertaken.

v Take care of your own Health & Safety and that of others who may be affected by your work.

v Maintain regular, consistent and professional attitude & attendance, punctuality & personal appearance.

Clinical Practice

The post holder will be expected to:

v Greet patients on arrival in a courteous & professional manner.

v Follow Cross Infection Control Policy and all practice policies and procedures at all times.

v Maintain detailed & accurate digital & manual clinical records.

v Follow all dental ethical guidelines including rules on confidentiality.

v Attend all regular practice and therapy meetings as requested and fulfil any outcomes.

v Follow practice policies and procedures at all times.

v Any additional duties deemed necessary by the by the line manager.

v Operate a variety of standard office equipment as required.

v Ensure all required professional indemnity is in place and all necessary CPD in undertaken.

v Provide high quality treatment under prescription in accordance with the Scope of Practice provided by the GDC. The Scope of Practice will also link with duties in context of practice protocols.

Please refer to the GDCs Scope of Practice which highlights activities and competencies that Orthodontic Therapists may or may not carry out depending on their personal competency level.

Education

The post holder will be expected to:

v Maintain own continuing professional development in accordance with CPD requirements,thereby contributing to the formation of personal objectives and development plan.

v Have clinical knowledge in the specialty area of engagement with and assistance to the Senior members of staff delivering and maintaining the high standards of quality care within the practice.

v Be committed to furthering your professional development, learning new skills (including improving your technological skills in line with our new state-of-the-art in-practice technology

Communication

The post holder will be expected to:

ª Communicate effectively with patients, clinicians, other staff members, professional bodies and external agencies.

ª Liaise with dental laboratories regarding work/reports for patients.

ª Communicate with other healthcare groups and work in collaboration with them regarding the patients' continuing care.

ª Provide oral health advice to all patients on a one-to-one basis, placing reasonable adjustments in place to support possible communication barriers where necessary.

ª Participate in relevant promotional days.

ª Provide telephone advice and reassurance regarding patients with emergency dental problems and support/educate the reception team where necessary.

ª use email and other effective channels for communication, in accordance to company guidelines.

£48-£56K dependent on experience, and benefits package
