Job Title: Quantity Surveyor - Construction
Location: Frankfurt, Germany
Type: Full-time

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our construction team in Frankfurt. In this critical role, you will manage the cost planning, estimation, and financial control of major construction projects, ensuring they are delivered within budget while maintaining the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate has a strong background in construction cost management, contract administration, and risk assessment.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Management:

  • Prepare and manage detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
  • Monitor costs throughout project life cycles, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
  • Oversee invoicing, payments, and cost reporting to ensure financial accuracy.

Tendering & Procurement:

  • Prepare and evaluate tender documents, bills of quantities, and procurement strategies.
  • Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to negotiate competitive rates while ensuring quality.

Contract Administration:

  • Administer contracts, including preparing variations, managing claims, and resolving disputes.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and industry standards, including German construction law and FIDIC contracts.

Risk Assessment & Mitigation:

  • Identify potential risks related to costs, contracts, and timelines.
  • Develop strategies to minimize financial exposure and enhance project efficiency.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Work closely with project managers, architects, and clients to align on project goals and budgets.
  • Provide clear and timely reports on financial performance and project progress.

Requirements:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5-8 years in quantity surveying or cost management within the construction industry.
  • Proven track record of working on large-scale projects.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. RICS or equivalent certification is a plus.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in cost management software and tools.
  • In-depth understanding of German construction law, FIDIC contracts, and procurement standards.

Languages:

  • Fluency in English is essential.
