Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Religious Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore various religious traditions, ethical systems, and philosophical ideas, promoting a deeper understanding of the world and their place within it.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching:
Plan and deliver engaging and thought-provoking RE lessons to students across different age groups, using a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles. - Curriculum Development:
Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine the RE curriculum, ensuring it is inclusive, comprehensive, and aligned with educational standards. - Student Engagement:
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages open dialogue, critical thinking, and mutual respect. - Assessment:
Design and implement assessments to evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their academic and personal growth. - Extracurricular Activities:
Organise and participate in RE-related extracurricular activities, such as interfaith dialogues, community service projects, and educational trips. - Professional Development:
Stay current with developments in religious education and pedagogy. Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the continuous improvement of the department.
- Education:
Bachelor's degree in Religious Studies, Theology, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). - Experience:
Minimum of X years of teaching experience, with a strong background in religious education. - Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues. - Cultural Competence:
Deep understanding of and respect for diverse religious traditions and cultural perspectives. - Passion for Education:
