Rotational Dietitian Fixed term until June 2025

Band 5 £29,970 - £36,483 Per annum pro rata
The vacancy is for a Band 5 post; however, we will also accept applications from dietitians either waiting for or with HCPC registration, who have reduced clinical experience and would work in a B4 role until competencies are achieved.
Hours: 37.5 per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a registered Dietitian to join our friendly, proactive dietetic team. This post is a rotational band 5 position and will be a good opportunity to practice all you have learnt, to develop your knowledge and skills.
You will have the opportunity cover areas such as medicine, surgery, gastroenterology, diabetes, stroke and care of the elderly, working with specialist dietitians (we are also considering adjusting rotations to expose new staff to community and paediatric rotations, as well as experiencing critical care / parenteral nutrition).
You will be joining our wider team of over 30 registered dietitians, dietetic support workers and admin staff, covering acute, community, paediatric and learning disability services.

Main duties of the job
As a Department and Trust, we will provide support and opportunities for clinical and leadership CPD, we also committed to supporting external education and career development opportunities. We will provide supervision and mentoring with experienced dietitians, and opportunities for gaining experience from a number of specialist dietitians working across the wider department (such as paediatrics, cancer care, learning disabilities, gastro, community, mental health).
We have a dedicated Therapy Practice Education team to support staff development.
We have excellent secretarial and dietetic assistant support and take students for clinical placements from the University of Surrey and Coventry University.
You should have excellent interpersonal and time management skills with an ability to be flexible and have a strong commitment to teamwork. The successful candidate will work closely with the community and acute colleagues to provide a holistic and patient-centred service.
To work as part of a team to provide nutrition and dietetic services to inpatients and outpatients of Milton Keynes General NHS Trust. Part of this role is to assist in supporting Dietetic Students and Dietetic Assistants. The post holder will be an autonomous practitioner.

Main duties and responsibilities
Clinical
1. To develop and maintain a high standard of knowledge and practical experience in dietetics.
2. To provide nutritional therapy, education and support to inpatients of MKUH
Education
1. To be proactive in identifying and addressing the educational needs of patients and carers including health professionals from other disciplines.
2. To assist in providing training and guidance for members of the multidiscipliniary team.
Clinical Governance
1. To work within the Code of Practice of the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the guidelines and policies of the HCPC and the British Dietetic Association
2. To work within the requirements of the Acute Trust policies and procedures.

Person specification Qualifications and knowledge Essential criteria- An appropriate degree recognised for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

- Experience of clinical practice consistent, at least, with successful completion of student clinical placement
- Competent in the use of I.T equipment and basic software especially e-mail and word-processing
