Job Description

St Stephens Gate Medical Practice in Norwich are looking for a four to eight session salaried GP to join our wide-ranging teams of clinical professionals, due to a long standing GP retiring. We would be looking ahead to a start date of 1st April 2025. The role includes a duty session on a pro rata basis, a usual GP list, and a mix of same day and routine appointments. Current pay is £12,000 per session.

Main duties of the job

We offer a six week holiday allowance plus bank holidays pro-rata, study leave and protected time for list based admin.

About us

We are a dual-site practice at St Stephens Gate Medical Centre and Newmarket Road surgery, and provide care for over 19,000 patients. We consistently receive excellent patient feedback. Our patient mix is nicely varied and we value the role of a family doctor offering comprehensive, generalist care.

We are part of Central PCN, which has developed a proactive high capacity home visiting service. We have also developed a PCN-led practice network of social prescribers, care co-coordinators, recovery workers, first contact physios, and mental health professionals.

The practice is committed to continuous development and has pioneered several innovative approaches, for example our integrated prescribing hub.

We have eight GP partners, five Salaried GPs, a good mix of ANPs, practice nurses, nurse associates, HCAs, in house and ARRS pharmacists, and physician associates.

We are a teaching and training practice, and we are very proud of our dedicated nursing team and our skilled admin and reception teams.

Person Specification Experience
  • Good understanding and experience of chronic disease management, and primary prevention and screening services.
  • Ability to take responsibility for your own career development, learning and performance and are responsible for ensuring that all your mandatory training is in date.
  • Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies and guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety.
  • Commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a confidential manner.
Qualifications
  • Fully qualified GP with GMC registration.
  • Be on the NHSE medical performers list.
