Marfleet Group Practice is looking for a GP to join our friendly, dedicated, and supportive team.
6 Sessions per week - Monday to Wednesday

About usWe currently care for around 15,400 patients
We have a diverse team including 7GP's, ANP, Practice Nurses and HCA's
We are a training practice with GP Registrars
You will be entitled to 6 Weeks Annual Leave + 1 Week Study Leave per Year (pro rata)

Job responsibilitiesThe post-holder will manage acaseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting,ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporarypatients.
Clinical Responsibilities
In accordance with the Practicetimetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make him/her-self available toundertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephoneconsultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signingrepeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence ina timely fashion
Making professional, autonomousdecisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referredfrom other healthcare workers within the organisation
Assessing the health care needsof patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
Screening patients for diseaserisk factors and early signs of illness
In consultation with patientsand in line with current Practice disease management protocols, developing careplans for health
Providing counselling andhealth education
Admitting or dischargingpatients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers asappropriate
Recording clear andcontemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
Collecting data for auditpurposes
Compiling and issuingcomputer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-writtenprescriptions whenever possible)
Prescribing in accordance withthe Practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinicallyappropriate
In general the post-holder willbe expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associatedwith a GP working within primary care.

Awareness of and compliancewith all relevant Practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing,confidentiality, data protection, health and safety
A commitment to life-longlearning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice
Contributing toevaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the organisation
Contributing to the developmentof computer-based patient records
Contributing to the summarisingof patient records and Read-Coding patient data
Attending training and eventsorganised by the Practice or other agencies, where appropriate.

Person Specification Qualifications- Member of the GMC Register
- Experience of working in Primary Care
