Job Description
Weare looking for a GP to join our friendly and enthusiastic team. We work hardto maintain a supportive Partnership and a healthy work life balance withflexible hours to accommodate childcare requirements. Clinicians meet every dayfor a coffee break and the surgery has monthly closure afternoons fortraining and clinical governance. Homevisits are infrequent, and the number of appointments is set at a safe and reasonablelevel. Surgery closes for one hour at lunchtime.
We are happy to wait for the right candidate,including newly qualified. We are keen to find someone who can be a proactivemember of the practice team.

Main duties of the job To workas an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medicalservices to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard ofclinical care whilst complying with the PMS contract. Furthermore, thepost-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice,contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example,maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with themultidisciplinary team
About us Upwell Health Centre is a well-established,caring, forward-thinking practice in the pretty village of Upwell which isclose to Wisbech, Downham Market and Ely, and is convenient for Peterboroughand Kings Lynn. We are a dispensing practice with a list size of 11000 patients.
You will be part of a supportive team of 6 GPs, 2x ANP, Specialist LTC Nurse, an excellent nursing team plusan experienced administration and management team.
We are an active member of the Fens & BrecksPCN which includes clinical pharmacists, a home visiting team, socialprescribers and first contact physiotherapists. We are proud to be a GP trainingpractice and have a strong teaching and supervision ethos. We are keen tosupport the development of special interests

Induction Training
On arrival at thepractice all personnel are to complete a practice induction programme.
Learning and Development

All staff will be required to partake and completemandatory training as directed by the training coordinator, as well asparticipating in the practice training programme. Staff will also be permitted (subject toapproval) to undertake external training courses which will enhance theirknowledge and skills, progress their career and ultimately, enable them toimprove processes and service delivery.
Allstaff are to recognise the significance of collaborative working. Teamwork isessential in multidisciplinary environments. Effective communication isessential and all staff must ensure they communicate in a manner whichenables the sharing of information in an appropriate manner.
Service Delivery
Staffat Upwell Health Centre must adhere to the information contained withpractice policies and regional directives, ensuring protocols are adhered toat all times. Staff will be given detailed information during the inductionprocess regarding policy and procedure.
Security
Thesecurity of the practice is the responsibility of all personnel. Staff mustensure they remain vigilant at all times and report any suspicious activityimmediately to their line manager. Under no circumstances are staff to sharethe codes for the door locks to anyone and are to ensure that restrictedareas remain effectively secured.
Professional Conduct
AtUpwell Health Centre, staff are required to dress appropriately for theirrole. Administrative staff will be provided with a uniform whilst clinicalstaff must dress in accordance with their role.
PrimaryResponsibilities
Thefollowing are the core responsibilities of the salaried GP. There may be onoccasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent uponfactors such as workload and staffing levels:
a.The delivery of highly effective medical care to theentitled population
b.The provision of services commensurate with the PMScontract
c.Generic prescribing adhering to local and nationalguidance
d.Effective management of long-term conditions
e.Processing of administration in a timely manner,including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associatedadministrative tasks
f.On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage andduty doctor roles
g.Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction withgood practice, policy and guidance
h.Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of thepractice workload
i.Adhere to best practice recommended through clinicalguidelines and the audit process
j.Contribute to the successful implementation of continuousimprovement and quality initiatives within the practice
k.Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (orareas) or the QOF
l.Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings asrequired
m.Contribute effective to the development and maintenanceof the practice including; clinical governance, training, financialmanagement and HR
