Job Description

As a Salaried GP, you will provide general medical services to patients within the PCN, including consultations, home visits, and care home support. You'll also contribute to clinical audits, mentoring, and practice improvements. This role offers flexibility, with both part-time and full-time opportunities available.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Conduct consultations (face-to-face, telephone, and online) and handle emergencies.
  2. Carry out home visits and support care home residents.
  3. Mentor and supervise ARRS team members.
  4. Ensure accurate and timely record-keeping.
  5. Participate in clinical audits, QOF, and enhanced services.
  6. Attend practice meetings and engage in professional development activities.

Person Specification

Experience

  1. Ability to manage a range of clinical situations and patient needs.
  2. Previous experience working in a primary care or general practice setting.
  3. Familiarity with IT systems used in general practice, such as EMIS Web.
  4. Involvement in clinical audits, quality improvement projects, or service development initiatives.

Skills and Knowledge

  1. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for patient and team interactions.
  2. Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  3. Ability to work autonomously while recognising the importance of teamwork.
  4. Organisational skills to manage a diverse workload efficiently, including time-sensitive tasks.
  5. Knowledge of NHS primary care systems, policies, and procedures.
  6. Aware of QOF, clinical governance, and safeguarding processes.

Qualifications

  1. Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) since August 2023.
  2. Full GMC registration with a licence to practice.
  3. Eligibility to work under the GP Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS).
  4. Membership of a recognised medical defence organisation.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
