Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled SAP Archiving Consultant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining SAP archiving solutions that improve system performance, ensure compliance, and manage data growth. This role will involve working closely with stakeholders across the business to understand their requirements, as well as implementing archiving strategies that meet both current and future business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement SAP archiving solutions across various SAP modules (eg, FI, CO, SD, MM, PP).
  • Develop and execute data archiving strategies in accordance with legal and business requirements.
  • Monitor and optimize archiving processes to ensure efficiency and compliance.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify archiving opportunities and manage data growth.
  • Perform system analysis and recommend improvements in SAP system performance through data management strategies.
  • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for SAP archiving processes.
  • Ensure compliance with data retention policies, legal standards, and audit requirements.
  • Document all archiving processes, procedures, and configurations for future reference.
  • Train end-users and internal teams on archiving processes and best practices.
  • Collaborate with BASIS, Security, and SAP Functional teams to ensure seamless integration of archiving solutions.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in SAP data archiving.
    • Hands-on experience in archiving SAP data within different modules (eg, FI, CO, MM, SD, etc.).
    • Experience in data retention policies, compliance, and audit requirements related to data archiving.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong expertise in SAP Data Archiving technology (eg, SARA, ArchiveLink, ILM).
    • Knowledge of SAP HANA and its impact on data archiving.
    • Familiarity with performance tuning in SAP environments.
    • Experience in managing large datasets and archiving SAP tables to improve system performance.
    • Good understanding of SAP Basis and system landscapes.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex SAP archiving issues.
    • Attention to detail and the ability to document processes meticulously.
    • Ability to manage time and tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with SAP ILM (Information Lifecycle Management).
  • Knowledge of GDPR or other data protection regulations.
  • Experience with SAP HANA archiving and optimization.
  • Project management experience in SAP data archiving projects.
