Job Description

We are looking for a Scala Developer to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for building and onboarding new project teams, integrating them into the client's organisation, and providing a clear vision for both the project and product.

You should be comfortable facilitating communication and information flow between external stakeholders and the project team, tracking progress, offering timely feedback, and promoting a culture of agility and continuous learning.

Job Description:

As a Scala Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance, scalable applications. You will work closely with a team of talented developers, architects, and stakeholders to deliver robust and efficient solutions. Your primary focus will be on Scala development with the Play Framework and Akka, ensuring that the code you write is high-quality and maintainable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop scalable, high-performance applications using Scala, Play Framework, and Akka
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
  • Participate in code reviews to maintain a high standard of code quality
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application performance issues
  • Work in an Agile development environment with tools like Jira and Git
  • Contribute to all phases of the software development life cycle
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and apply them to improve our systems

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Strong experience with Scala programming
  • Proficiency in Play Framework for building web applications
  • Hands-on experience with Akka for building distributed and concurrent systems
  • Solid understanding of software design patterns and principles
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including Scrum or Kanban
  • Experience with version control systems, such as Git
  • Ability to write unit tests and ensure high-quality software
