Senior Caseworker Officer, Temporary, Full-time

Your new company
Hays is partnering with a non-governmental association to recruit for a temporary Senior Caseworker Officer. This role is based in Belfast City Centre.

Your new role

  • Assess cases to determine if they meet legislative requirements for investigation.
  • Review and gather complex information to make evidence-based decisions.
  • Obtain materials and assist in preparing investigation reports.
  • Communicate assessment decisions clearly, both orally and in writing.
  • Provide advice and assistance to service users, public bodies, councillors, and MLAs.
  • Manage a caseload to meet performance standards and procedural requirements.
  • Conduct interviews with service users for advice and assistance.
  • Maintain accurate electronic records and adhere to data management policies.
  • Collaborate with other teams to share knowledge and identify trends.
  • Support Investigating Officers and Team Managers with administrative tasks.
  • Handle telephone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries.
  • Participate in team meetings to improve processes and service delivery.
  • Support adjudication matters and prepare case bundles.
  • Track and report case statistics and performance metrics.


  • What you'll need to succeed
  • Educated to A level standard or equivalent.
  • 2 years' relevant experience in an administrative role within a busy customer service environment.
  • Previous experience of using a case handling system and of developing and maintaining systems to collate and monitor data to generate reports and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Previous experience of preparing detailed written decisions.
  • Good attention to detail and a commitment to timeliness, quality and accuracy and confidentiality in information processing.
  • Good organisational and planning skills and the ability to work to deadlines to manage competing priorities and meet KPIs.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office packages to extract information and produce reports.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and contribute to continuous improvement.
