Job Description
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Developer to work on a hybrid basis, two/three days from our HQ in Coventry and the remainder working remotely from home.
Working with the Lead Developer and the wider DDAT team, this integral role supports the development & re-development of a range of systems, databases, apps, websites or web services currently in use, whilst also contributing to the development of new solutions.
We are looking for a proactive and project driven individual with extensive experience of developing applications in a .NET environment (especially C#) with a focus on front-end development, along with exposure of Azure infrastructure. Excellent communications are essential to keep stakeholders informed as we try to ensure AHDB delivers best in class solutions both internally and for the agriculture industry. A high emphasis placed on accessibility is also desired.

Responsibilities
Contribute to this development project by providing technical knowledge and development skills in the areas of process investigation, solution design, solution development and system testing
Ensure that solutions comply with agreed security and data protection requirements
Establish and maintain open lines of communication and build good working relationships with all project contacts, ensuring key internal and external stakeholders are kept fully informed and involved throughout the project lifecycle
Contribute technical knowledge and development skills to ensure successful delivery of high-profile development projects and assist in the maintenance and refinement of existing system solutions
Design, create and program SQL server databases in line with project requirements
ASP.Net (C#) development in line with project requirements
Develop code to adhere to the structure of the project framework selected (i.e. MVC)

Essential Criteria
Ideally educated to degree level in a relevant subject such as computer science or similar, or relevant experience
Extensive experience of developing applications in a .NET environment (especially C#) with a solid understanding of Object-Oriented design and programming
Previous experience of Microsoft Azure infrastructure
Detailed understanding of the principles of relational database design including working with SQL Server
Ability to produce both requirements definition and functional specifications, as well as fully functional systems in line with requirements and functional specification
Good communication skills (both written and verbal), with excellent attention to detail
