Senior Director, Facility Management & Sustainability

Location: UK (Remote)

THE OPPORTUNITY

Iron Mountain has a real estate portfolio of 95MSF across 60 countries, primarily consisting of industrial warehouses. The Global Real Estate (GRE) team supports Iron Mountain's businesses worldwide through strategic portfolio planning, capital project delivery, acquisitions and dispositions of land and buildings, lease administration, facility management, and sustainability projects.

Position Summary

The Senior Director will report to the Vice President, Global Facility Management & Sustainability. This key strategic role requires skills and experience to be considered a viable successor to the Vice President. The successful candidate must have experience working with a strong and collaborative outsourced partner.

Your Role in Our Mission:

  1. Risk Mitigation: Collaborate with CBRE and IRM's insurance carrier to minimize impairments of Critical Building Systems.
  2. Budgeting and Forecasting: Work with CBRE to develop annual budgets and accurately forecast monthly spend.
  3. Service Delivery: Oversee service quality by CBRE globally, addressing inquiries from business leaders.
  4. Business Leader Engagement: Regularly engage with Regional Operations Leaders to ensure flawless delivery of FM/Maintenance Capital/Response services and Sustainability projects.
  5. Disaster Preparation and Recovery: Monitor weather reports globally to ensure facilities are prepared for issues.
  6. Sustainability and Energy Management: Lead initiatives to reduce IRM's electricity demand through various projects.
  7. Compliance: Maintain facilities in an "audit-ready" condition.
  8. Technical Consulting: Provide guidance on technical issues related to building systems.
  9. Coordination with Capital Project Delivery: Work with GRE's Project Delivery organization to forecast operating expenses for projects.
  10. Due Diligence of Acquisitions: Collaborate with IRM's M&A team to integrate FM and sustainability services into newly acquired businesses.

Valued Skills and Experience:

  • University degree in engineering, facilities management, or a related field is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • Professional licenses or certifications (CPM/CFM, PMP, RFA) are desirable.
  • Substantial experience in facilities management and client-facing roles in corporate real estate.
  • Strong global experience and experience with industrial facilities is preferred.
  • Expertise in asset, facilities and property management, project management, and real estate budgeting.
  • Strong understanding of FM responsibilities related to commissioning and exiting facilities.
  • Experience building partnerships with outsourced facility management partners.
  • Proven success in a matrixed management environment.
  • Willingness to travel internationally.
