This position is based in Ulm, Germany.

A day in Medical Affairs

As the Head of Medical Affairs-Germany, your primary role is to provide overall Medical leadership through alignment with the Germany General Manager and Regional Medical VP. We see this role as a strategic partner to Commercial teams, Market Access teams and other key local and regional functions to ensure the successful delivery of Teva's new innovative product launches, Pivot to Growth strategy, external engagement, and execution of R&D programs.

With your broad medical affairs background, you will be able to lead by example and set standards for medical affairs being and enabling function and one of the key factors in our commercial story. A key aspect of our way of working is collaboration - we expect it within the medical affairs unit but also in working with other departments.

In this position, you will have the opportunity to work with strong, seasoned and highly experienced professionals in generic medicine, who are the backbone of our company. Simultaneously, you will be setting up new processes and teams for future launches of innovative medicine as part of our Pivot to Growth strategy.

Among the focus areas will be the acceleration of patient recruitment for pipeline products and Teva studies (Phase I-II-III-IV) while also delivering global and regional KPIs for investigator engagement. You will be providing strong compliance oversight to investigator-sponsored studies, collaborative research, company-sponsored studies and PSPs.

As Head of Medical Affairs Germany, you will also attend and contribute to the European Medical leadership team, establishing strong collaboration and alignment with the Regional Medical Team (TA Leads, Strategy Operations) based in Amsterdam Netherlands.

Who are we searching for? You are:
  • an accomplished medical affairs leader, with a robust track record in leadership roles, strong business acumen and leadership capabilities, while being a results-driven professional with a strong collaborative ethos
  • able to develop a multi-year perspective and medical plan on the trajectory of the German healthcare landscape involving early strategic planning of external engagement priorities/medical strategies
  • a flexible problem solver known for thinking outside the box and generating creative, efficient solutions and the ability to communicate precisely and diplomatically with internal parties as well as with authorities and other external parties
  • a decision-maker with the ability to analyze, reflect, adapt and execute
  • a team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to establish and maintain professional relationships across all organizational levels
You have:
  • doctorate level degree (MD, PharmD or PhD in Biological Sciences or related field) with a preference for a Medical Doctor Degree
  • over 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with extensive and diverse expertise gained in medical affairs functions, focusing on activities both in Germany and internationally
  • strong understanding of the innovative pharma business, with a proven track record of successful launches of innovative products in the German market. Knowledge of the AMNOG procedure is essential.
  • deep understanding of reimbursement and payer landscape in Germany. Strong knowledge of German healthcare systems and GBA processes
  • proven experience managing medical affairs teams covering diverse therapeutic areas; experience in Neurology, Psychiatry, Gastroenterology (IBD), Immunology or Immuno-oncology areas would be preferred but not mandatory.
  • solid understanding of clinical trial execution and experience in driving German site identification as well as patient recruitment acceleration is strongly preferred.
  • excellent communication skills in German and English
