We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Employee Relations Partner to join our People Team at The London Clinic, based at our main site in London (W1G 6BW). We are offering a competitive inclusive salary of £65,000 to £70,000.

Established in 1932, The London Clinic is one of the UK's largest private hospitals, with 8 state-of-the-art facilities, and circa 1350 employees where we are dedicated to providing our patients with expert, individualised treatment and care. Job Profile

As the Senior Employee Relations Partner, you will be responsible for leading and developing the ER team, comprising an Employee Relations Partner and an Employee Relations Advisor. You will ensure the delivery of strategic and operational employee relations services, guiding senior management through complex issues, driving employee engagement, and ensuring compliance with UK employment law. You will work closely with the HR leadership team to ensure that The London Clinic continues to foster a fair, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.

  • Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday

  • Salary: Competitive inclusive salary range of £65,000 to £70,000

Key Duties:
  • To lead, mentor, and develop the Employee Relations team, ensuring that they provide timely, expert advice and support to managers and employees. Set clear objectives for the ER Partner and ER Advisor, and foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • To design and implement the overall Employee Relations strategy in alignment with The London Clinic's strategic objectives and values. Ensure proactive management of ER matters, supporting a positive workplace culture and high levels of employee engagement.
  • Oversee and provide direct support on the most complex and high-risk employee relations cases, including disciplinary actions, grievances, and investigations. Ensure that cases are managed in a fair, legally compliant, and consistent manner.
  • To independently manage own case load with often high volumes and of varying levels of complexity with a customer focus to ensure that matters are handled efficiently, fairly and consistently.
  • Act as Process expert - providing very clear and specific coaching, support and direction to managers. Build capability of new/first time managers.
Skills & Experience:
  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) and CIPD Level 5 qualified (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrates strong working knowledge of employment policies, with a thorough understanding of UK employment legislation, and a broad range of HR/People Knowledge including but not limited to the HR life cycle, including onboarding processes.
  • Has independently managed own case load in a variety of People issues in high volumes and of varying levels of complexity.
  • Successful experience of coaching, advising and influencing managers, with the ability to independently collaborate and influence Senior Management.
  • Able to balance legal risk with business benefit to ensure that the best outcome is reached on employment related issues.
  • Competent with data analysis and interpretation, and using MS Excel.
