Job Description

The Senior ICT Engineer provides 3rd line support to (MEL) whilst also being available as an escalation point for 1st & 2nd line teams where required.

As a Senior ICT Engineer you will work across a broad range of technologies which include Microsoft's Cloud solutions (Azure/Office365), SIEM tools (Rapid 7), Virtualisation, Servers (both Hardware and Software) and be involved in supporting and deploying CAE's back up and monitoring toolsets. This role is based in MEL's office in London.

What you will be doing?

  • Support and administration of Microsoft core products including Windows Server, O365 & Azure
  • Building, maintaining and supporting internal and external virtual environments (VMWare, Hyper-V, Linux)
  • Proactively monitor IT systems and take preventative measures to reduce system downtime - Logic Monitor, Rapid 7
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve IT issues both hardware and software
  • Point of Escalation for 1st & 2nd line teams
  • Identifying, developing and implementing opportunities for continual service improvement
  • Development of internal systems and process to improve the support operations
  • Following best practice for Ticket Management as outlined in Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
  • Creating/Updating documentation and Knowledgebase
  • Ability to communicate at all levels within the business in both written and verbal form
  • Liaison with 3rd party suppliers / vendors
  • Participation in the technical on-call rota

What is Needed?

  • Previous experience with Microsoft Technologies - not limited to but including Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Azure
  • Virtualisation technologies (Hyper-V, VMware)
  • Experience with Windows/Application deployment software such as SCCM or Intune/Autopilot
  • Extensive working experience supporting Microsoft Server OS including AD & Group Policy
  • Microsoft Exchange Administration/Support including Office365 Hybrid configurations
  • Office 365 Identity Management, Security & Compliance
  • Experience with SaaS monitoring solutions (Logic Monitor, ScienceLogic, Solarwinds)
  • Experience using security information and event management (SIEM) toolsets (Rapid 7)
  • Previous Experience using an ITSM Platform e.g. Autotask, Service-Now
  • Previous experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware faults (Servers, Blades, SANs) and working with Vendors to resolve
  • VMware VCP
  • ITIL Foundation
