Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are looking for a (Senior) Legal Counsel to join our legal team in Germany / Austria / Switzerland (D/A/CH) reporting into the Assistant General Counsel D/A/CH.

As a key member of our team representing legal, you will review, interpret and translate legal needs and requirements and effectively communicate those to the business and external stakeholders as the case may be.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide legal support and advice to the business on all management levels on relevant legal issues.
  2. Draft legal documents such as contracts, statements, agreements, etc.
  3. Calculate and handle risks in business processes and decision-making.
  4. Provide guidance and actively engage on all aspects of the business insofar as data privacy is concerned.
  5. Ensure compliance and adherence with IQVIA's policies and procedures and statutory regulations.
  6. Support in handling litigation.
  7. Deliver specific legal guidance and training to local teams.
  8. Keep up with current changes in all relevant areas of law and contribute to the enhancement of the knowledge base of the company's legal function.

SKILLS AND EXPERTISE

  1. Strong contract, data privacy, and healthcare experience (social law SGB V).
  2. Good understanding of the PPG business required.
  3. Good organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills.
  4. Ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed organization.
  5. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  6. Excellent judgment with the ability to anticipate and identify issues.
  7. Ability to engage in complex problem solving with a pragmatic approach.
  8. Strong legal technical abilities.
  9. Self-reliant, hardworking, and results-oriented.
  10. Culturally sensitive.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  1. Minimum of 3 to 5 years' PQE in legal practice.
  2. Experience may be gained in either private practice or an in-house legal environment or a combination of the two, but in-house experience is highly desirable.
  3. Qualified as an attorney in Germany ("Syndikusrechtsanwalt/-in").
  4. Fluent English speaker and ability to draft legal contracts in English and German required.
