IT Senior Network Systems Engineer

Our Client is a Bank based in the City of London, looking to recruit an IT Senior Network Systems Engineer ideally with at least 7 to 10 years of experience in IT, preferably from within the banking financial industry.

You will be working in a small team managing the day-to-day technology infrastructure to ensure that the Bank can operate efficiently.

Key Skills:

1. CCNP level networking
2. Solarwinds - Service Desk Software experience
3. Experience of Palo Alto firewalls
4. Firemon - Network Security Devices and Policy Management
5. Complex Switches experience is essential
6. Experience of Avaya PABX systems

Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for the maintenance of the IT infrastructure of the Bank by providing first line support of software, hardware, and networking, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
2. Manage day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
3. Design, plan, and deploy IT projects to enhance the existing IT infrastructure and applications required by the bank.
4. Provide End User Computing support for all staff.
5. Coordinate between the London Users and Group IT Security on all requests for systems access, ensuring that permissions are provided promptly and regularly updated, following the Group Access Matrix Protocol.
6. Implement Disaster Recovery and backup procedures to preserve the Bank's assets and ensure compliance with Group requirements.
7. Provide IT support to ensure the smooth running of daily and periodic reports for the London Compliance team to ensure adherence to the Anti Money Laundering Provisions.
8. Monitor overall networking equipment (i.e., Network Switches, Firewall, and other appliances) and provide support.
9. Plan and carry out maintenance checks to ensure IT Operations and infrastructures are running smoothly and ensure daily routine task completeness.
10. Maintain the AYAYA PABX system and ensure the recording system is operational at all times.

Technical Skills Required:

1. Proficient in common operating systems: Windows 10, Windows Server 2016 and above, Redhat Linux based Operating System.
2. Software proficiency: VMWare v6.7 and above, Veeam Backup and Replication, Symantec Endpoint Protection, Symantec Endpoint Encryption, ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus, Microsoft Office 365.
3. Networking (IT): Cisco Switches and Routers, Palo Alto Firewalls, LAN/WAN Routing.
4. Hardware: Dell PowerEdge Servers, Dell PowerVault SAN Storage.
5. Project management and data analysis skills.
6. Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills (written and verbal in English).
7. Strong stakeholder engagement.
8. Bachelor's or Master's degree or professional qualification in relevant discipline (IT/Information Systems/Computer Science/Technology/Programming/Information Science/System Engineering/Computing).

Salary: The salary for this role is in the range £70K - £80K.

Contract: This is a 12 month FTC role.
