Job Description

The Section IT Business Solutions Finance delivers business value through the management of IT products including execution of change projects for all Finance departments of Munich Re's Reinsurance Divisions worldwide.

As the Senior Product Manager you are managing our global SAP FS-RI solution with highly integrated SAP and non-SAP components. You are managing the demand process and steering the external provider who is maintaining our solution. Your responsibility includes the secure, stable, and compliant operation of the system.

This position will be located in Munich.

Your Job

  • Management of global IT products in the area of financial applications for Reinsurance Accounting
  • Planning and aligning product roadmap with solution architecture and business on the basis of target architecture, including necessary technical and security refactoring
  • Responsibility for a stable run of the products, including setup and management of all relevant processes for run, support, incident and monitoring - aligned with the needs of the business. In case of major incidents, escalation and management of solutions.
  • Updating all information to run and develop the products including SLA with business
  • Conducting and updating compliance procedures and checking that the products are running secure and compliant including all aspects of VAIT (regulatory requirements for IT)
  • Constant check of incident volume (incl. root causes) and infrastructure settings to setup necessary improvement measures
  • Managing and steering of the external vendors
  • Management of product costs and budgets
  • Aligning with all other IT services involved
  • Management of software licenses needed for the product

Your Profile

  • University degree, preferably in Computer engineering / IT or similar qualification
  • Several years of experience in IT application development and hence in-depth knowledge of the entire software development and product life cycle
  • Track record of successful managing and steering of external providers
  • Track record of successful implementations that delivered value to the business
  • Deep knowledge of SAP Modules, ideally FS-RI
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Collaborative working style creating a culture of accountability and sharing
  • Experience in the management of diverging interests of various stakeholders, ability to set priorities in a pragmatic and efficient way
  • A high degree of commitment and the willingness and ability to master the various tasks
  • Fluent spoken and written English as well as willingness to travel internationally
  • Preferably good written and verbal communication in German
