This position is a key leadership role within the Australian Engineering team. The successful candidate will be an experienced Engineering Manager with proven Project Management skills, gained in a multi-site environment. This role is responsible for providing a safe working environment for Amazon associates and all aspects of engineering infrastructure, statutory compliance, preventative and reactive maintenance at specific nodes of our Fulfillment Network.
The person will be a role model in setting a high bar for performance within their team, supported by SMART goals for each team member. A strong and engaging people manager; this person will understand that success is delivered when the Team is fully engaged on common goals and that success is measured by internal and external customer satisfaction. Proven leadership experience in a multi-site Engineering maintenance environment is essential. This position requires an Engineering professional who is a dynamic, high-energy, results-oriented individual with both the stamina and mental agility to be able to work and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, innovative, customer-centric environment.

Key job responsibilities
Strategic

1. Contribute to the development and implementation of Amazon's growth in the region/pillar.
2. Responsible for the formulation, adherence and tracking of Facility Engineering capital expenditure (CAPEX) across the region. Deliver the required availability of all infrastructures in their region to meet customer demand whilst remaining within operational budget.
3. Engage and work closely with the regions strategic leaders in Operations, Transportation, Finance and Supply Chain to ensure an integrated approach is adopted that underpins growth and which delivers customer service excellence.
4. Drive a culture of innovation in the team which will lead to improvements in safety, customer experience and system performance.

Technical

1. Responsible for the overall building and facility maintenance (Reliability, Performance, Cost, etc.).
2. Responsible for all preventative and reactive maintenance for installed equipment in the region, ensuring maximum equipment availability. (Conveyors, Sorters, Labeling Machines, Packing Machine, HVAC, Fire detection, etc.)
3. Drive and improve equipment and process standardization across the region and the wider EU network.
4. Provide feedback and condition analysis on equipment, performance and availability.
5. Manage day to day issues on equipment with the regional Engineering teams, defining priorities with the Operations teams and working with the local teams to resolve TTs promptly and with detailed root cause and remedy.
6. Support the Ops Engineering teams with installation of new Equipment.
7. Effective in influencing, negotiating and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.
8. Provide technical guidance to field personnel.
9. Experience in Lean Manufacturing.
10. An ability to create clear, concise narratives with supporting financial justification for capital investment and then delivery of complex technical solutions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- A Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline or an FHEQ L6 equivalent qualification is essential combined with solid supervisory experience. Relevant Professional qualifications may also be considered.
- Proven senior technical leadership experience within a multi-site engineering maintenance role and involving automated equipment.
- An excellent working knowledge of MS Office is mandatory. AutoCAD and MS Project are desirable.
- Experience of Subcontractor management to ensure quality of work.
- Experience with Health and Safety regulation, IOSH or NEBOSH qualification desirable.
- Proven written, verbal and interpersonal skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Masters in Engineering or MBA
- Proven senior technical leadership experience gained within a multi-site engineering maintenance role and involving automated equipment.
