This is a hybrid-remote role requiring on-site work at our London office, 3 days per week. Our office is located in the WeWork at 1 Mark Square London, EC2A 4EG

As a Senior SRE, you will be focused on building and improving the platform Stacklok uses to provide security features to individual developers and organizations across the spectrum: public and private, open source and closed, with a range of software delivery models. We are seeking a passionate and skilled Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the software industry, with a strong understanding of Go language, Docker, Linux, and Git. An interest in or understanding of cyber security and secure coding concepts is highly advantageous. As part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to and shape the future of our innovative software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and maintain high-quality software.
  2. Participate in the design and implementation of new features and functionalities.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and propose effective solutions.
  4. Troubleshoot and resolve software-related issues.
  5. Improve system-level security, apply best practices in all work done.
  6. Regularly participate in code review to maintain our code quality and learn new things from peers.
  7. Contribute to our continuous improvement and growth by sharing knowledge and providing feedback to the team.
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Proven record of technical accomplishments directly contributing to measurable and impactful business outcomes.
  • Demonstrating a deep understanding of Go programming language and backend development principles, consistently delivering high-quality, efficient, and scalable code. Proficient with Docker, Linux, and Git.
  • Strong proficiency in software development and experience with open-source projects. Supply chain security related projects are a plus.
  • Experience with secure coding practices and frameworks (e.g. OWASP , SSDF ). In-depth knowledge of software supply chain security, including understanding the risks associated with open-source components.
  • Proficiency in modern software development methodologies, particularly in the application of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes, which are fundamental in today's fast-paced development environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to diverse stakeholders. Comfortable presenting at conferences and making technical topics accessible.
