Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Solution Architect to work with our Enterprise customers and other AWS teams to craft cloud-based solutions, primarily in Sydney. At AWS, customer obsession is at our Core. We are trusted advisors to our customers and partners and work with AWS sales, business development, solutions architecture and product teams to craft highly scalable, flexible and resilient cloud architectures that address customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of AWS services.

AWS Solution Architects possess customer facing skills that allow us to represent Amazon well within a customer's environment and drive discussions with senior personnel within the company, as well as a technical background that enables us to easily interact and give guidance to software developers and architects.

As a trusted customer advocate, you will have the opportunity to help shape and execute a strategy to build focus and broad use of AWS. Your ability to connect technology with measurable business value is critical. You should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges.

Key job responsibilities

  1. You will be responsible for creating and executing the technical strategy alongside sales and business development as we work to delight our Enterprise customers through a deep relationship with AWS.
  2. As a key member of the Solution Architecture team, ensure success in building and migrating applications, software and services on the AWS platform.
  3. Partner with customers and several AWS teams to craft highly scalable, flexible and resilient cloud architectures that provide solutions to solve customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of AWS services.
  4. Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS, and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.
  5. Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architect community including authoring or otherwise contributing to AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers and blogs.

A day in the life
As a Solution Architect, you will go beyond the technical solution architecture and work with the account teams, specialists and partners to deliver a practical solution that will accelerate the customers business outcome. You will also contribute to uplifting your knowledge through the broad catalogue of accreditation and education opportunities that AWS offer.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 4+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries
- Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
- Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective
