Job Description

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Solution Architect to work with our Enterprise customers and other AWS teams to craft cloud-based solutions, primarily in Sydney. At AWS, customer obsession is at our Core. We are trusted advisors to our customers and partners and work with AWS sales, business development, solutions architecture, and product teams to craft highly scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures that address customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of AWS services.

Key Responsibilities
  1. As a key member of the Solution Architecture team, ensure success in building and migrating applications, software, and services on the AWS platform.
  2. Partner with customers and several AWS teams to craft highly scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures that provide solutions to solve customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of AWS services.
  3. Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS, and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.
  4. Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architect community including authoring or otherwise contributing to AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers and blogs.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience.
  2. 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience.
  3. 4+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience.
  4. Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries.
  5. Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
  6. Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective.
