The Wellcome Trust is a global charitable foundation. We improve health for everyone by funding science, leading policy and advocacy campaigns, and building partnerships.

We plan to spend £16bn over the next ten years, funding new discoveries in life, health, and wellbeing, and taking on three global health challenges: mental health, infectious disease, and climate and health.

We are looking for a Strategic Partnerships Adviser to join our team.

Where in Wellcome will I be working?

You will be working as part of Government Relations and Strategic Partnerships (GRSP), reporting to the Head of Strategic Partnerships. This is an exciting time to be joining Strategic Partnerships as we grow our collaborations across sectors to have an impact on some of the biggest science and health challenges facing the world.

What will I be doing?

As a Strategic Partnerships Adviser, you will:

  1. Work on significant, possibly complex strategic partnerships projects from inception to delivery, identifying and building the trust of key stakeholders to maximize support for our partnership work.
  2. Build a plan with objectives, timetable, milestones, resources required, and risks for each strategic partnership project.
  3. Deliver projects, managing complex internal and external relations and a delegated budget.
  4. Maintain relationships with a network of senior external stakeholders.
  5. Work closely with colleagues from GRSP and across Wellcome to deliver partnership strategies that deliver better outcomes.
  6. Review project progress to ensure risks are managed and that the project scope remains appropriate.
  7. Contribute to a diverse and inclusive culture across the organization.

Is this job for me?

We are looking for someone who has:

  1. Experience of Strategic Partnerships work internationally, in healthcare, research, or international development sectors.
  2. Experience of working with UN and/or multilateral agencies, ideally in a partnerships capacity.
  3. Experience of planning projects and managing them through to delivery.
  4. Well-developed and demonstrable strategic planning skills.
  5. Well-developed presentation and facilitation skills.
