Student Advisory Board Member - Partnerships in Assessment and Feedback Network

Are you a current undergraduate or a taught postgraduate at the University of Leeds?
As part of the Curriculum Redefined project, the University is placing partnership with students at the centre of its approach to assessment and feedback. The University's new Partnerships in Assessment and Feedback Network is seeking to recruit 10 students from across the University to form a Student Advisory Board. The Network will contribute to a central pillar of the University's mission to deliver transformative opportunities for our students and society through a distinctive and sustainable Leeds Curriculum founded on the values of collaboration and partnership. The Network will work with students, academics, employers and members of the community to centre student voices and experiences in the University's approach to assessment and feedback.
You will be passionate about student education as well as strongly motivated to work with your peers from across the University to help bring about meaningful partnership with students in assessment and feedback. You will also be reliable, work well in diverse teams and have excellent communication skills. Drawing on your lived experience as students, you will work with your peers in the Student Advisory Board and a team of academics and professional services colleagues to shape and deliver the programme of activities of the Partnerships in Assessment and Feedback Network.
What will the role entail?
As a member of the Partnerships in Assessment and Feedback Student Advisory Board, you will:
- Participate in Student Advisory Board meetings
- Propose agenda items for discussion at the board meetings
- Comment and make advisory recommendations on the Partnerships in Assessment and Feedback Network's programme of events and themes for resources
- Develop/co-create resources and workshops
- Contribute to workshops and events (e.g. via short presentations and workshop discussions)
- Attend training sessions
What areas of assessment and feedback will the Network be covering?
As a member of the Student Advisory Board, you will contribute to co-developing the areas of focus for the Network, but we anticipate that we'll be covering areas that include:
- Co-designing assessment questions with students
- Co-designing assessment briefs and marking rubrics with students
- Building students' skills in learning from feedback and for working in groups
- Preparing students for community-engaged assessments
- Using data to make assessment and feedback more equitable
- Working with employers and industrial advisory boards to develop assessments
- Developing employability skills through assessments

Time commitment
48 hours over the academic year (approximately 4 hours a week) to include training and preparation for board meetings, attendance of board meetings, project work and contributions to online discussions and in-person events
Ad-hoc project opportunities: depending on project need, you may also be drawn upon if opportunities arise throughout the year (non-compulsory).
