Geography Teacher

Are you a knowledgeable and enthusiastic educator with a fascination for the world's landscapes and environments? We are seeking a passionate Geography Teacher to join our school and inspire students to explore the wonders of the earth and the impact of human activities on the planet.

Multiple opportunities for a skilled Geography Teacher is available at a well-regarded secondary school in Kent with a start date in October 2024. Hays Education, a leading provider with exclusive partnerships with secondary schools in North Kent, Maidstone, Canterbury and Ashford, is assisting several schools in enhancing their Mathematics department. We are actively seeking experienced Maths teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) interested in embarking on a rewarding new journey with the potential for growth and exciting challenges.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver captivating geography lessons that engage students in understanding geographical concepts, such as physical features, climate, ecosystems, and human geography.
  • Utilise maps, technology, and real-world examples to make geography relevant and relatable to students' lives.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages students to ask questions, think critically, and develop their spatial awareness.
  • Lead field trips and practical exercises to provide hands-on learning experiences and deepen students' connection with geography.
  • Encourage environmental stewardship and awareness of global issues to cultivate responsible global citizens.

  • Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geographical Sciences, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Teaching certification or relevant teaching qualifications.
  • Proven experience in teaching geography at the secondary or higher education level.
  • Strong knowledge of geographical theories, tools, and technologies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
