Cornwall's 16 + and Separated Children Seeking Asylum Service consists of a partnership team between the Local Authority and Carefree. We are a high performing, young person focused, Outstanding for services to Care Leavers Team. We are a countywide service and together we aim to improve the life chances of young people living in and leaving Local Authority care. The team are a mix of staff - some are Social Work qualified and others have a housing, youthwork and other skilled background. All staff are trained in areas relevant to Children in Care, Asylum Seeking Children and Leaving Care. Social Workers and Personal Advisors undertake Pathway Plans and Reviews as per the Leaving Care Act 2000 and Care Planning Regs 2010. We are aspirational in our approach with the goal of improving Care Leavers' outcomes and this journey starts in preparing with young people for the time when they cease to be looked after.

The role of the Team Manager will be to oversee the work of Social Workers and Personal Advisors; offering high quality reflective supervision; leading on relevant areas of practice; enhancing partnership working; and collaborating with the other Team Managers and Service Manager to continue to improve outcomes for Care Leavers.

Close multi agency working supports young people in their transition to independence; working with agencies such as Housing, CSW, YZUP, Youth Offending Service, Benefits Agencies (DWP), Early Intervention teams, CAMHS and Adult Services where appropriate, as well as many others.

As part of our commitment to outstanding practice, we have put in place a comprehensive core curriculum and career and qualification pathway for our Team Managers to develop their knowledge and skills to deliver the most effective social work and multi-disciplinary interventions with children and families. If you are committed to continuing professional development, can demonstrate strong leadership skills, learning in your practice and in improved outcomes for the children you help and protect, we will provide you with the career options and remuneration that match your expertise.
