Job Description
We are currently recruiting for a Technical Coordinator to join our waste treatment team at our Camberley STW.As the successful candidate you will be responsible for the management of the pre-requisites (materials, resources and permits), monitoring and close down of all complex planned and reactive work across maintenance and operations as well as ensuring all compliance with statutory requirements.Being the Technical coordinator, your role will also involve day to day contractor liaison and management as well as working closely with the Operations and Planning & Scheduling Teams to provide technical support and input into future planning and solutions.This is a diverse and fast paced role where no two days will be the same. It provides a fantastic opportunity to think differently about how we ensure reliability and resilience of our assets. You will influence the future, by identifying risk and investment needs and work with internal teams and external contractors to deliver solutions within the right timescales.What you'll be doing as the Technical Coordinator
- You will play a key role as part of a team ensuring that some of our largest and historic pumping stations are operational and maintained to the correct standard.
- You will be responsible for ensuring the materials required to maintain the plant is available for the maintenance team to complete tasks, by specifying and ordering materials.
- Management and organisation of contractors to carry out repairs and fault diagnosis on pumps and the supporting equipment.
- Reviewing maintenance activities for continuous improvement and compliance with asset standards.
- This role will require a large focus on engagement and communication with key stakeholders to ensure all activities are planned effectively and efficiently.
- Be the lead person with specific activities within a designated area, including directing on briefed projects and providing support on larger scale projects.
- Relevant experience working within Water or Wastewater treatment, preferably experience as Mechanical and Electrical technician or ICA technician.
- Experience and knowledge of a number of Health and Safety activities including ETWOSAs, Hot Works Permits, Crane Authorisation and statutory inspections.
- Expectation to completed both the Permit to Work & EMC course and BES- E-Reporting Course.
- Knowledge and experience of using Thames Water's Asset Planning System (APS).
- Understanding and practice of updating the Asset Register.
- Able to consistently produce work of a high standard with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills - able to communicate in a friendly, open and constructive manner with a range of people.
- Able to work on own initiative with minimal supervision and be proactive.
- Good organisational skills, ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple workflows at once.
- Good decision making abilities.
- Competent and confident using IT systems.
- Full driving licence required.
- Competitive salary of up to £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
