Job Description
Sandbox Interactive is the ambitious game development studio behind the award-winning game Albion Online. We started as a small independent group of experienced gaming professionals in 2012, and now employ an international team of more than 100 people. Our team is passionate about making Albion Online the best game it can be, and we're constantly on the lookout for talented individuals to join our growing team in the heart of Berlin.
Responsibilities:- Define and implement a unified technological vision across game development, web development, marketing, data science, and live operations
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineers, developers, and IT professionals
- Oversee and coordinate technical efforts across departments to ensure alignment, innovation, and efficiency
- Manage the technology budget and resources, balancing cost-effectiveness with quality
- Support and mentor department leaders, fostering collaboration and professional growth
- Ensure robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure for both development and live game operations
- Drive the adoption of DevOps practices to streamline development, deployment, and operations
- Represent the company at industry events, building external relationships and showcasing technological leadership
- Proven track record of success, with at least one shipped title on PC or console platforms
- Proven track record in a senior technical leadership role, with experience managing diverse technical teams across multiple domains
- Experience in programming languages and development frameworks (e.g. C++, C#, Java)
- Experience working in a live service business environment
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Experience in multiplayer, live-service, or sandbox game development
- Familiarity with game development
- Experience working in a data and KPI driven environment
- Familiarity with DevOps practices
