Transport Manager

You will be working for a UK-based building solutions business. They are looking for a Transport Manager to come on board and help drive H&S and transport operation.
Your new role
The role involves managing third-party haulier performance to meet service levels, monitoring and achieving national and local KPIs, and implementing corrective actions as needed. It includes maintaining Health and Safety standards, thoroughly investigating safety incidents, and providing recommendations. Effective relationships with third-party hauliers and the internal logistics team are essential, as is collaboration with the operational team to exceed targets and improve processes. The position also requires creating weekly service, safety, and EPOD performance reports, and responding to changes in transport activities during peak periods and special events.
What you'll need to succeed
Ideally, the candidate will have strengths in safety, data manipulation/presentation, driving service performance and be able to develop good working relationships with internal/external stakeholders. Experience in logistics management, health and safety knowledge as well as holding a CPC licence will also be advantageous.
What you'll get in return
For this role you will receive a temporary contract of 3-6 months (to be reviewed near conclusion of the assignment) alongside an hourly rate of £24 p/hour. The hours are 8am to 5pm on site. There is an opportunity for flexible hybrid working after an initial probation period. This position will require some travel to other sites and may result in overnight stays at various locations.
