Job Description

Location: Central Birmingham, Job Type: 6 month contractJob Title: Research Administrator £14.16 per hourWe are delighted to be working with a well known and successful Universities in Birmingham in such of a diligent and capable administrator to support the Research team. As an administrator you will be checking important documentation and ensuring it is formatted correctly onto the teams new system.

  • A review of Business Impact Analysis and Business Continuity plan documents, and transferring everything over into the new format
  • Provide high-quality administrative support to academic research and innovation staff.
  • Offer first-line advice to research support and academic teams, including coordinating CPD and training.
  • Assist in managing research projects throughout their life cycle, from bid development to post-award processes.
  • Support the use and maintenance of research information systems and databases.
  • Arrange travel for research staff, particularly for international conferences and research trips.
  • Look at standardisation of operational risk register content, and identification and sharing of good practice across existing risk registers

Criteria

  • Previous experience in an administrative role, preferably in the public or education sector.
  • A high level of literacy and numeracy
  • Excellent IT skills including knowledge of web based solution, word processing,
  • spreadsheet and presentation software packages, preferably Microsoft Word, Excel and
  • PowerPoint.
  • Experience in an administrative environment
  • Excellent analytic skills
