OVERVIEW OF THE DEPARTMENT/SECTION

Core Compliance is responsible for support the programme of change within the department. Included in this remit is Data Governance, both from a Change and BAU side.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Specifically, you have accountability for the following named departments, this includes:

  • Centre of Excellence 'COE' & Transformation Delivery Management

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Specifically, you will be accountable and responsible for taking appropriate action relating to Data Governance with respect to the Company's and Core Compliance, including:

BAU

  • Acting as a centralised point of contact for Core Compliance for any questions relating to Data. Supporting the Core Compliance Data Steward.
  • Maintaining the department's data policies, standards, and procedures. Understanding the data flows into Core Compliance systems from source including the controls in place. Documenting and escalating gaps. Collaborating with other data governance teams locally and in other regions to ensure the department is following best practices.
  • Managing the Core Compliance Data Issue management process. Coordinating and creating material for regular meetings and seeking solutions for open issues. Escalating to management where required.
  • Leading and facilitating data governance activities and forums. Creating data quality metrics, dashboards, and reports where required.
  • Overseeing the department's EUCs ensuring that they adhere to the regional policy. Supporting the attestation process.
  • Managing data in key Core Compliance systems including surveillance platforms. Ensuring daily checks are in place; troubleshooting issues, and introducing tools to track performance. Liaising and partnering with technology to seek robust solutions.
  • Proactively identifying gaps in current BAU activities and implementing improvements.

Change

  • Supporting Change management across the department from a Data perspective including; data impact assessments for projects, updates to data landscapes and data controls. Supporting testing of data quality and data reconciliation. Tracking data actions and outcomes for any project assigned in an auditable format.
  • Contributing to securing funding for projects. Working with colleagues across Technology, Head office and other regions to provide transparency into the region's data requirements. Completing ROI where required.
  • Establishing any business project related meetings required for projects assigned ensuring Terms of reference (ToR) are in place where required.

Technical Capability

  • Identifying and understanding issues, risks, or dependencies of any projects you are working on; swiftly actioning and documenting resolutions.
  • Understanding effective ways to ensure data governance and seeking solutions to data issues.
  • Managing conflicting priorities and re-prioritising work accordingly.
  • Working effectively with others via different methods, both inside and outside of Core Compliance, building and promoting effective working relationships.
  • Making result-driven decisions and managing large workloads and tight deadlines.
  • Using a range of communication skills to adapt to a variety of clients, stakeholders, and external parties.

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working in or with Financial organisations.
  • Experience of Compliance data helpful but not mandatory.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in data science, information management, or related fields.
  • At least 8 years of experience in data governance, data quality, data management, or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance principles, frameworks, methodologies, and tools.
