We are seeking a seasoned executive to join CLAAS as Vice President (VP) Manufacturing & Managing Director (m/f/d) for the Shandong facility. This strategic role will be instrumental in advancing production and management processes to support sustainable growth and uphold the highest quality standards.

Known for its commitment to innovation, CLAAS has established a prominent facility in China's Shandong Province, where over 600 skilled employees produce high-quality machinery for international markets and support the company's global manufacturing integration.
Role Overview and Key Responsibilities:
As VP Manufacturing, you will play an important role in the Chinese management team to strengthen CLAAS' reputation as a trusted supplier of high-quality machinery and equipment. This position requires both a strategic and hands-on approach to overseeing production, operational efficiency, and working with global functions to drive continuous improvement and growth.
- Oversee all production processes, including final assembly, metal fabrication, and painting.
- Ensure adherence to Quality, Cost, and Time (QCT) standards in production.
- Lead and optimize daily production operations to maximize efficiency and quality.
- Develop and implement structures and processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and standardize operations.
- Manage budgeting responsibilities, including workforce planning, operational expenses (OPEX), and capital expenditures (CAPEX).
- Drive initiatives to stabilize and expand production with a strong focus on quality assurance, risk management, and CLAAS's digitalization and automation roadmap.
- Implement a sustainable growth strategy to solidify CLAAS's long-term presence in China.
- Collaborate closely with international and local teams, customers, and internal departments to ensure a cohesive workflow.
- Foster strong relationships with suppliers and external partners, ensuring compliance with legal and safety regulations, particularly regarding hazardous materials.
Professional Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 15 years working in an autonomous management role in industrial production, ideally in machinery or plant engineering, with at least 5 years in an international leadership role, preferably within a matrix organization.
- Cultural Integration: Proven ability to act as a "bridge builder" between local Chinese teams and the global matrix leadership, with a focus on personnel and organizational development.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated experience in modern leadership principles, change management, and navigating complex organizational structures.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of industrial production, ideally in vehicle or complex machinery manufacturing, with a solid understanding of logistics (SCM networks, SKD/CKD).
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Chinese regulations, especially regarding occupational safety, paired with a strong awareness of local business culture.
- Analytical and Organizational Abilities: Proficiency in technical calculations, production tools, and office applications, with a structured, problem-solving mindset and a hands-on approach.
- Language Skills: Fluent business-level English and conversational Chinese are required.
- Soft Skills: Self-motivated, authentic, empathetic towards employees, skilled in conflict management, and able to prioritize both employee well-being and company success.
