Duties & Responsibilities
The Workshop Junior Planning Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of workshop activities by effectively managing the flow of materials and parts. This position is responsible for prioritising warehouse picking to meet daily delivery requirements and meticulously coordinating the demand for X & R parts to ensure alignment with the workshop's production schedule.
In this role, you will work closely with the Workshop Planning Coordinator, gaining practical experience and valuable insights to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Functions
- Attend Tender and Project kick-off meetings to ensure workshop input criteria is fully understood and met.
- Working with warehouse, identify workshop picking priorities to ensure the daily delivery of all required material, parts and assets to Workshop.
- Support in asset movement requirements within workshop.
- Monitor and manage flow of materials and parts for all workshop activity.
- Create, maintain, and coordinate group requisitions for all part and non-part numbered inventory item requirements.
• Identify and manage demand for X-R parts via ERP & CRR to ensure flow of material availability to Workshop schedule.
• Cost control of parts & labor relating to X-R process.
• Develop product knowledge of parts and materials associated with items used on ROV system and associated tooling.
• Participate in all HSEQ initiatives.
- Participate in daily workshop meetings (toolbox talks, safety stand downs etc.)
- Where appropriate raise non-conformance reports to follow up discrepancies found within processes.
- Champion continuous improvement for the purpose of refining relevant processes.
- Promote and encourage communication between all stakeholders.
- Gain hands-on experience and knowledge by shadowing and collaborating with the Workshop Planning Coordinator to develop skills and prepare for future career advancement.
Qualifications
REQUIRED
• Knowledge of ROV systems and tooling maintenance regimes
• Strong demonstrated critical thinking and logic skills with proven track record of success in a complex production and assembly LEAN environment.
• Demonstrable knowledge of the following gained through APM PMQ certification or higher-
o project planning
o resource planning
o risk management
o managing stakeholder conflict
• Excellent negotiating, communication (verbal and written) and organizational skills.
• Handling of multiple tasks and responsibilities in an effective and efficient manner.
• Finding solutions to facilitate continuous improvement.
DESIRED
• Knowledge of 6S and lean principals.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of MS Office and PeopleSoft ERP System.
• Ability to work with cross-cultural organizations and groups.
