Due to recent expansion, they are looking for a Commissioning/Service Technician to work on-site in France and support their team with commissioning and servicing mechanical and electrical components of their systems and plants.


Job Summary:

The Commissioning/Service Technician will perform electrical, mechanical and process related commissioning - ensuring operational safety by subjecting the plants to several inspections in order to reduce risks.

Requirements:


  • Completed electrotechnical training or similar (e.g. electrician, automotive mechatronics technician, etc)
  • Minimum 5 years of hydraulic, electrical and/or mechanical experience
  • Willingness to travel 90%-100% within France; Availability to travel for international commissioning
  • Fluent French, Good English.
  • Valid Class B driver's license
  • Basic knowledge of control and feedback control systems
  • Valid permit to work in France


Responsibilities:

  • Commissioning and servicing mechanical and electrical components of our systems and plants
  • Troubleshooting and carrying out maintenance and service work
  • Instruction and training of future operating personnel at the customer's premises
  • Acceptance and logging activities
  • On-site contact for customer
  • Prepare on site topics for claim management (documentation)
  • Document service and commissioning works and prepare detailed reports
  • Assist with remote assistance
  • Check electrical cabling
  • Check signals
  • Basic PLC (programmable logic controller) handling

  • Check mechanical installations
  • Assist during plant ramp up

  • Work on weekends and public holidays


Detailed Responsibilities:


Small Installations:

The commissioning engineer installs and assembles technical systems and equipment on site. This can include mechanical, electrical or hydraulic work.

Testing and commissioning:

Before commissioning, he checks that the system is correctly assembled and connected. He then carries out commissioning, which is the first time that the systems are tested under real conditions.

Troubleshooting and rectification:

During commissioning, problems or faults often arise. The commissioning engineer diagnoses these faults and ensures that they are rectified.

Testing functions:

It checks that all functions of the system are working properly. This also includes safety checks.

Documentation:

The results of commissioning and any changes or adjustments are documented so that subsequent maintenance or repairs can be carried out more easily.

Training of operating personnel:

After commissioning, the commissioning engineer often trains the personnel who will later operate the system.

Collaboration with other specialist departments:

The commissioning engineer works closely with engineers, project managers and sometimes also with suppliers to ensure that commissioning runs smoothly.


These activities require a deep technical understanding as well as the ability to oversee complex systems and solve problems quickly.
