What are we looking for?

We're on the hunt for a driven and ambitious Area Sales Manager to join our team and spearhead our sales efforts across Scotland, with a primary focus on Aberdeen. The ideal candidate will have a passion for building strong customer relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and consistently meeting sales targets. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a proactive mindset, excellent communication skills, and solid knowledge of the hydraulic, fluid power, and energy industries.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Sales Development: Identify and target new business opportunities across your territory, which covers the whole of Scotland, with a focus on Aberdeen. Create and implement strategic sales plans that drive growth and help achieve sales targets.
  2. Customer Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, offering exceptional customer service and support. Work collaboratively with the Scotland Facility and other STAUFF outlets to address customer inquiries and resolve issues efficiently.
  3. Product Knowledge: Become an expert on STAUFF UK's product range and applications. Provide customers with in-depth knowledge of our products to encourage adoption and boost sales.
  4. Market Analysis: Stay up to date with market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments. Share valuable insights with the management team to guide strategic decision-making.
  5. Reporting and Documentation: Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts. Utilise CRM tools to track customer interactions and sales progress.
  6. Collaboration: Work closely with the internal sales, MarCom, and technical support teams to ensure customer needs are met and coordinate efforts within the territory.
What have you developed to make you the best you can be?
  1. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of sales experience in the hydraulic, fluid power, energy, or related industrial sectors, with a proven ability to meet sales targets and drive business expansion.
  2. Education: GCSE Grade C in English, Math, and Science or equivalent.
  3. Skills:
    1. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    2. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
    3. Excellent negotiation and closing capabilities.
    4. Self-motivated and proactive in driving sales efforts.
    5. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
    6. Proficient in CRM software and MS Office Suite.
  4. Travel: This is a field-based role, requiring at least 4 days per week on the territory. Flexibility to travel extensively within Scotland and attend industry events is essential. A full clean driving licence is also a must.
