ARRS GENERAL PRACTITIONER (GP)

Fixed Term 5 months or locum with a view to extension subject to national DES contracting.
We are traditional two partner led GP practices and we try and keep the best features of traditional General Practice while looking to make the most of new opportunities for our patients.
Due to the changes in the ARRS Scheme to introduce General Practitioners we are looking to expand our team by seeking to employ a newly qualified General Practitioner to join our team for two sessions a week. There is a possibility of two sessions with our buddy practice in the PCN which will make up total of 4 sessions a week.
Main duties of the jobTo perform as an autonomous general practitioner working independently and with other health care professionals to assess, diagnose and treat the conditions of patients attending within a primary care setting.
Provide expert professional advice to patients, carers and colleagues and ensure the maintenance of clinical excellence. To be involved in the provision of education and training to FY2 doctors and other staff.
To be professionally accountable and responsible for all elements of clinical practice in accordance with the GMC code of conduct ensuring the safety of patients and quality of their care is primary.
Providing counselling and health education
Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate
Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions
Prescribing in accordance with the ICB prescribing formulary whenever this is clinically appropriate
About usWe are part of West Hill PCN.
We are training practice and we currently host FY2 doctors and PA
students.
We work closely with our partners in the community and My Care My Way team.
Job responsibilities- Experience of working in a primary care environment
- Experience of continued professional development
- Experience of QOF and clinical audit
- Newly Qualified General Practitioner with under 2 years from qualification
- Not previously been substantively employed at a GP Practice
- General understanding of the primary care contract
- Qualified GP
- MRCGP
- General Practitioner Certificate of Completion of Training CCT
- Excellent communication skills written and oral
- Clear polite telephone manner
- Competent in the use of Office and Outlook
- Effective time management planning and organising
- Ability to work as a team member and autonomously
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to follow clinical policy and procedure
- Experience with audit and able to lead audit programmes
- Experience with clinical risk management
- working with MDT settings
